- Your phone number
- The suburb or estate where the service is needed
- The type of service you are enquiring about

You may also give us information directly by phone or email.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs which may include your IP address, browser type and the pages you visited. Our website also uses cookies (see section 7).
We do not knowingly collect special personal information (such as health, religious or biometric data) or information about children.
3. Why we use it, and on what basis
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote;
- provide, schedule and administer waste removal and recycling services;
- invoice you and keep accounting records;
- communicate with you about a service you have requested; and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Our lawful bases under POPIA are your consent (given when you submit the form), the performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in running the business, and compliance with the law.
We will not use your details to send you marketing you have not asked for, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only where necessary, and only with:
- Our website and email hosting provider, which stores and transmits form submissions and email on our behalf;
- Our accountants and professional advisors, where required;
- Regulators or law enforcement, where we are legally obliged to disclose information.
Quote requests submitted through the website are delivered to us by email and are not stored in a database on the website itself.
5. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become work: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Client and service records, invoices and accounting records: at least 5 years, as required by South African tax and company law.
6. How we protect it
Our website runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to our email and client records is limited to staff who need it. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information against loss, unauthorised access and misuse. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
7. Cookies
Our website uses a small number of cookies that are necessary for it to work properly — for example to cache pages so they load faster, and to keep the contact form working. We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then not work as intended.
8. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and request a copy;
- ask us to correct or update information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep;
- object to our processing of your information in certain circumstances; and
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email admin@dcwaste.co.za or call 074 431 1000. We will respond within a reasonable period. We may need to verify your identity first.
9. Complaints
